Comments: Father, James Everett Wallin, served on the CA-70 in WWII when it was torpedo. Assisted in the repairs until ship was bought to Boston in 1944. He was then discharged. Interesting that the CA-70 in January 1944 provided service support in the Battle of Entwetok; I was stationed on Entwetok in 1957-58 serving in the US Army. Thanks to my father and all that served on the CA-70.

As a former sailor of the Royal Australian Navy, who once served on HMAS Canberra FFG 02.
I just wanted to say how much we appreciate, that the United States Navy will name a new ship USS Canberra, It is a great honour and it means a lot to us.
We hope that one day she will come to Australia to visit us, she will be most welcome.
Best wishes to our friends in America .
