In memory of my brother Robert Moshier, who passed away in 1986 at the age of 49, He was transferred from the Salem to the Canberra, and then back to the Salem. I think he was a signalman for the ADM. I think he was on board in the mid 50s. Just thought some of his old shipmates may still be around. This is a great site.

I was aboard the Canberra from Oct. 1966 to Nov. 1969. I was first in 3rd div. then moved to 6th div. gunners mate. I was there when the guys from the Boston painted there number 1 on us. There when we took the hits from shore batteries. Took her last ride under the Golden Gate, to Hunters Point. Was badly saddened when I found out she was scrapped. She was a great ship, and I have never forgotten her. Had some great times in the ports we visited, and still remember many of my friends. Would like to hear from some of them, like Robert M Turek and Jack T Kemmer. I have been watching this site for a while and it keeps getting better, thanks for putting it together. Happy Days and Smooth Sailing. Corrected E-mail address

My father Enrico Pietro Quattrociocchi served on this proud ship. He was aboard when it was struck by the Japanese on Oct. 13. He was always proud of his naval service, his ship and crew mates. My father passed away on June 23, 1984, but I have his medals and uniform preserved. My mom, Opal is a member of the reunion. Please send me information when the 2002 reunion will be held, I know it will be Oct. 13. I pray for my dad as I do all of the survivors and those who lost their life on the USS Canberra. God Bless All of You. I loved the web site. Please keep in touch. I am proud of all of you!
