Comments: Served aboard Canberra 57-59 Marine detachment,(9th Div) as CO's Orderly and trainer in Mount 51.I also served in I Corps with the 26th Marines in Viet Nam during TET, did call for naval gun fire when my platoon was in deep trouble, thanks to you and my former ship you saved our butts. It was not until years later that I found out that Canberra was there for our rescue. Thank you all. Happy days and Smooth sailing and SEMPER FI

Comments: My son told me about this Homepage. I was the CIC Officer and Operations officer during my tour -- Nov 1965 to Jan 1968. The ship?s trip to Melbourne in 1967 was most memorable. I was assigned the task of coordinating the visits for all ships during the Coral Sea Festival including getting Lady Alice Dixon and Sir Owen Dixon to personally great our great ship on its arrival in Melbourne.
