    Comments: Served aboard USS CANBERRA from the Cuban Missile Crisis until 1966 in San Diego.
    Was in 4th Division, then ESO until my transfer. Retired PN1 in January 1984.
    Would love to hear from others of that time.

    Comments: I served on the Canberra as a electronics tech from 65 to 67, including two tours to Nam. Can never forget Subic and all the times I had as a young man. Would love to hear from old buddies like Hart, Duffy, Ken Costa, Ficcardi, Bushong, etc.

    Comments: Served on USS Canberra From New Years Eve 1965 to Aug 1968, E Div, EM1 Cantrell, retired from Navy CPO USN in 1976.

    Comments: I know we had liberty in San Fransico in late l964 for the Cal/Navy game in Berkley before leaving on a WestPac cruise in Jan. 1965.

    Comments: Came aboard Oct. 11, '66. Made 2 cruises to Vietnam in 6th Div.. Would like to locate old friends; some names: Ken Watts, Rockwell, Liscom, Anaya, Martinez, Robinson, The Dorsey Brothers, Smitty, Turk & many others. Released about June 16, '68 when ship returned to States. Back home, began attending monthly drills at my USNR. Was studying to become a Dental Technician with the USNR, and also was trying to regain my SN rank.

    Comments: My father, Maj Ed Duda, served as a Marine officer on the USS Canberra CAG-2 (WestPac Deployment 1965). He passed away in 1993, but I would love to hear from anyone that served with him.

    Comments: My dad, Boatswain's Mate William "Bill" E. Stone, was on board when she was torpedoed. He passed away 5/31/06 and is, and will, always be missed.

    Comments: The "Can Do" was my first ship. I was 17 when I walked aboard. I was in FM Div. I served on her from Dec 1960 to Oct 1962. It was a great ship and helped me become a man.

    Comments: I am looking for any of my shipmates that served between 1967-1970 and can help me prove to the Veterans Administration that I did in fact preform MedEvacs from the ship. Is there anyone out there that has knowledge of this and any proof that the ship was in country. I have numerous illnesses due to exposure to Agent Orange, but my service records have been destroyed in a fire.

    I NEED YOUR HELP !!!!

    Comments: My Dad served on Canberra, I believe, in the 1955 - 1957 time frame. His name was Lloyd B. Howe. He was a Radioman.

    I just wanted to let any of his buddies know that he passed away in November of 1987. Mom, LaQuita, died in 2003.

    Comments: I served on her 1967 to 1968. I was an FTG2 and worked mostly on system 34 and 37. I was beaten my last day in the Navy and spent 3 months in Balboa Naval Hospital recovering.

    Comments: My Father was on the USS Canberra from 10/14/1943 until 7/1/1945. His name was James E. Chick. He passed away in 1965. I'm just finding out all of this through Ancestry.com. I knew he was on a ship in the Pacific that was hit but I never knew the details. If anyone remembers him, let me know.
